Dave Blaney set for Motorsports 2004 Show

FORT WASHINGTON, PA December, 2003 . . . One of the most popular veteran racing talents in NASCAR Winston Cup racing (soon to be NASCAR Nextel Cup) is former World of Outlaws sprint car champion Dave Blaney. He will be one of the many top racers and personalities from the sport of auto racing that will be appearing the Motorsports 2004 Presented by Sunoco. The annual show will take place at the Fort Washington, PA Expo Center, January 16-18, 2004.

Though Blaney has not been able to crack victory lane in Winston Cup competition he has been a consistent performer in the Jasper Engine and Transmissions sponsored Ford owned by Doug Bawel. The team finished 28th in the final standings earning close to $3 million in prize money. In 36 starts the 41 year old racer was able to earn a top five and four top tens.

Blaney, a former O'Reilly World of Outlaws sprint car champion, is an ardent supporter of short track auto racing. He makes numerous personal appearances at short track racing facilities around the nation and his family, with a long history in short track racing, own the Sharon Motor Speedway located in Hartford, Ohio.

Blaney's Outlaw Driving Experience allows fans to have the opportunity to participate in Ride-Along Programs at a number of speedways around the nation. A professional driver takes you for a ride in a sprint car. And there are opportunities for personal instruction and orientation of an open wheel sprint car sessions available. The student gets to drive a sprint car with professional instruction.

During Motorsports 2004 Presented by Sunoco Blaney will have the opportunity to meet many fans and take part in autograph sessions. The veteran racer will be part of some autograph opportunities at the Jasper Engine and Transmission display at which Blaney's Winston Cup ride will be on display

Blaney, in previous visits to the show, has always been a popular attraction and he enjoys the opportunity to meet with fans of all types of auto racing.

Again in 2004 the show, Motorsports 2004 Presented by Sunoco, is expected to attract in excess of 40,000 people during the show. Doors open at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 16th and the show continues until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 18th.
