ECR Technologies now entirely owned by RCR
The engine production company behind Richard Childress Racing is now completely owned by RCR Enterprises, LLC.

ECR is one of the last vestiges of Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. Presently, they provide engines to several Sprint Cup teams including Germain Racing, JTG Daugherty Racing, Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing, and of course RCR.
ECR engines also support the Corvette DPs, winning the 2014 and 2015 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar prototype Championship.
ECR was formed nine years ago when RCR and the now defunct DEI combined their engine programs into a single effort. Although DEI hasn't fielded their own cars since 2008, the name Earnhardt-Childress remains.
An official release read, "With the strong brand equity that ECR has built in worldwide motorsports since 2007, the company will continue to use the name ECR Engines."
DEI merged with Ganassi's Sprint Cup operation after 2008, but like ECR, it eventually was only part of it in name alone.
In 2014, Chip Ganassi dropped the name 'Earnhardt' from his team and reverted back to Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.
