Elliott Sadler Speaks About Talladega Wreck...

"First of all, I want to thank all of the sponsors, fans and members of the media that have called to check on me following my wreck at Talladega. It was a scary wreck from inside of the car and it may have been a little scarier to see the replay. I was alert during the entire wreck. It reminded me a lot of the big wreck I had at Michigan International Speedway in 2000. When you flip or get airborne it's a very eerie feeling. Everything goes quiet when you're off the ground and when you wreck and hit the wall there's a lot of loud noises. Its hard to describe but the two are totally different feelings.

"I consider myself very lucky the car landed on its wheels after the wreck was over. The safety workers were there in a matter of seconds. I applaud NASCAR on the new yellow flag rule. It would not have been a good feeling to sit there for a long period of time without seeing someone there to help. As soon as I stopped flipping the safety guys were on the scene and they were very respectful of my wishes with getting me out of the car and into the ambulance. Drivers don't want to be grabbed and pulled after being in a wreck and those guys did a great job of listening to what I had to say.

"I'm actually in Kentucky testing today. We're going to Kansas City this weekend and want to make sure we have our ducks in a row for the remaining races on the schedule. We had some great success this year at the mile and a half tracks and want to make sure we run well at Kansas City, Charlotte and Atlanta. Since Todd has joined the team, we haven't raced on a mile and a half track so this gives us a chance to work together before it really counts."
