Martinsville

Biffle to Make 300th Start This Weekend in Martinsville

CONCORD, N.C. (March 30, 2011) – This weekend in Martinsville, Greg Biffle will make his 300th Sprint Cup start. His first Sprint Cup start was at Auto Club Speedway on April 28th of 2002 where he started 29th and finished 13th in a No. 16 Jack Roush-owned Ford. Over the course of his 299 starts, Biffle has accumulated 16 wins, 66 top-five finishes and 114 top-10 finishes.

I guess these sort of milestones just sneak up on you but I’m excited to make my 300th start this weekend

Biffle competed in seven Sprint Cup races in 2002 while en route to the NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship. The following year he made the full-time move to the Sprint Cup Series and won his first Sprint Cup race that summer in Daytona. In 2005, Biffle had his most successful season to date winning six races and finishing second in the standings by a narrow margin of 35 points.

All but six of Biffle’s Sprint Cup starts have been in a Roush Fenway Racing Ford. He ran four races for Andy Petree and two races for Petty Enterprises in 2002. His average Sprint Cup career finish is 16.6 from an average starting position of 15.6. Over the course of the last 10 seasons, Biffle has led a total of 4,467 laps and raced a total of 113,172.7 miles.

“I guess these sort of milestones just sneak up on you but I’m excited to make my 300th start this weekend,” said Biffle. “It’s kind of ironic because Martinsville is historically one of my worst tracks but maybe we’ll have a good finish there on Sunday and make this 300th start a memorable one.”
