MIKE SKINNER (No. 31 Lowe's Chevrolet Monte Carlo)

"I'll tell you what. I think it ran pretty good for a Chevrolet. I'm not sure, but I think the Lowe's Chevy was best in class today (only Chevy finishing on lead lap). This is an awesome race car and an awesome race team. Larry McReynolds (crew chief) and all of the guys did a great job. Mike Hawkins (engine specialist) did an awesome job tuning the engine to qualify. Don Richeson did a great job building the qualifier, and Gary Waggoner, Spinney and all the guys back at the shop did a good job. We had a good engine and a pretty good handling car. We just didn't have the grip we needed, and that's just downforce. All it is is downforce. We get some downforce and we can run with these guys. It's awesome (to have wrapped up 10th place in the standings). I'm going to tell you what. It's like winning. It's pretty awesome. I'm going to race wide open next week. We're taking this same race car. We're going to have a strong qualifying engine. To heck with those Pontiacs. We're going to race the hell out of them."

JEFF GORDON (No. 24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Monte Carlo)

"We were really thrilled to pull out a top 10. Thank goodness for fuel mileage. I've been on the other side of it before. I didn't know how those guys could go that far on fuel mileage. Now I know. They ran really bad all day long and didn't go really fast and were able to get really good fuel mileage.

"I want to congratulate Robert Yates, Todd Parrott and especially Dale Jarrett. They're a class act, very professional. They've done a great job this year. They've been very consistent and didn't have many engine failures. He's been knocking on the door and this is his year, that's for sure. I'm real proud of him. He'll be a great champion.

"I'm not going to complain about it unless they (Pontiacs) are beating my Monte Carlo I've got next year.

"I would have liked to have been up there making it more exciting. I would have liked to have seen a more exciting race. It's a very tough track to get around with those strong winds today. It wasn't very comfortable to drive the track. The car was really slipping and sliding around. It seemed like the Pontiacs were the only cars that could get a good grip on the race track, some of the Fords also.

"We had hope. We weren't very good in practice yesterday, but they dropped the green and we jumped up there to sixth and stayed there a little while. That's when those guys came on and we started sliding back. The only thing that surprised me is that thing didn't run out of fuel sooner than it did.

"Those guys did a good job. I always want to be the best Chevrolet. We weren't that today, so obviously we've got to do some work, but how much more work can we do to keep up with those other guys. I don't think it's in the car.

"The strong winds and flat race track does not make for much side-by-side racing."

KENNY WALLACE (No. 55 Square D Chevrolet Monte Carlo)

"It was a good run for us. We made some major gains on this race car throughout the weekend. We ended up 15th, and that's tolerable for our team because it helps us in the points. That's really all there is to it."

DALE EARNHARDT (No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Monte Carlo)

"We were fair. I want to congratulate Jarrett. Robert Yates has worked really hard as a team owner, just like Richard Childress has. Dale Jarrett has worked really hard over the years. We were just there today. We had the car set up super loose. That's the only way I could make it go around the corners. I could run with them for about 15 or 20 laps. The tires would go away and their downforce would go to work and I was junk. The stop and go didn't hurt me in position, but it put us a lap down. It makes you wonder. It really makes you wonder."

WALLY DALLENBACH (No. 25 Budweiser Chevrolet Monte Carlo)

"This one goes to the team and Tony Furr. They kept telling me we could make it all the way, but I was sweating it there those last few laps. We probably had a top-10 car and we got a top 10. They told me not to worry about running people down, just to wait for them to pit. We were fast enough to get around some of them, but there was no need to push it. That's two straight top 10s, so we'll try to close out the season with three in a row next week in Atlanta."

STEVE PARK (No. 1 Pennzoil Chevrolet Monte Carlo)

"Our last set of tires got too tight. We ended up having to pit for a splash of gas there at the end, too, so I'm kind of disappointed. I broke my string of top 15 finishes. We stayed 15th in the points. We gained a little bit on the guys in front of us and lost a little bit to the guys behind us."

GEOFFREY BODINE (No. 60 Power Team Chevrolet Monte Carlo)

"We ran out of gas when Ricky Rudd blew up. We had to come in and lost a lap. I was coasting down pit road out of gas and I was speeding. I didn't know how fast I was going. I didn't have the engine running, so they made me go to the end of the longest line. That put us out of any contention to make up the lap. We fought our way back to 11th. That's great. I had a super car. I probably had a third or fourth-place car."
