INDIANA FORD DEALERS HOLD THIRD ANNUAL NASCAR FAN APPRECIATION DAY July 7, 1998 DEARBORN, Mich., July 6, 1998 -- NASCAR racing fans in Indianapolis are gearing up for a unique opportunity. They will meet some of their favorite Winston Cup drivers at the third annual Indiana Ford Stores "Ford Fan Appreciation Day" on July 29. Last years event drew approximately 15,000 fans, and Ford officials expect the 1998 event will attract an even larger crowd. The Ford Fan Appreciation Day precedes Indianapolis Motor Speedways Brickyard 400, and will take place at the RCA Dome on Wednesday, July 29 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The event will bring together various Ford Motorsport sponsors and drivers in a free evening of racing related fun. NASCAR Winston Cup drivers Brett Bodine, Jeff Burton, Bill Elliott, Kenny Irwin Jr., Mark Martin, Jerry Nadeau, Kenny Wallace, Michael Waltrip, and Rusty Wallace are scheduled to appear at the event. Fans will also have an opportunity to meet several NASCAR Craftsman Truck drivers. The drivers will sign autographs and participate in a Question & Answer session emceed by the Motor Racing Networks Allen Bestwick. In addition, several Ford teams will have their show cars on display and team merchandise for sale. The event will also feature several interactive racing displays, and McDonalds will participate with a sponsor display and Ronald McDonald charity raffle. Free Fan Day admission tickets are available at any one of the 69 Indiana Ford Stores, and fans are welcome to call Ford Racing Program Headquarters at (313)271-7108 for more detailed event information. Previous Ford Fan Appreciation Day venues include Atlanta, San Francisco, Dallas, Orlando, and Miami.
