Notes: This is the first time Goodyear has brought this particular combination of left- and right-side tires to Indianapolis Motor Speedway . . . the previous combination had been run at the track since 2001 . . . Nextel Cup teams just ran this tire set-up last weekend at Pocono, as well as earlier this season at Las Vegas, Bristol and Pocono in June . . . later in the second half of the season, Cup teams will run these codes at Bristol once again . . . as on all NASCAR ovals longer than one mile, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Indianapolis . . . the air pressure in the inner liners must be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire . . . this weekend, all Eagle race tires will bear a special decal celebrating Goodyear's 50th year of involvement in NASCAR.

Goodyear Quote - Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Tire Development: "While this is the first time Nextel Cup teams have run this tire set-up at the Brickyard, they do have the advantage of having run these codes twice in the past seven weeks at Pocono, as well as earlier in the year at Vegas and Bristol. We've had good performance and gotten good feedback from teams on this set-up's performance, so we anticipate a great weekend of racing."
