Indianapolis History: Sunday will mark Jamie McMurray's eighth Sprint Cup Series start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In seven prior events McMurray has an average starting and finishing position of 16th. His best finish at the famed 2.5-mile oval came in 2003, his first visit to the track, when he finished third after starting 22nd. He has finished in all races participated in and has finished on the lead lap in six of the seven events.
Making an Appearance: Visit the Team Chevy Stage located inside the track between turns one and two next to the IMS Museum where Jamie McMurray will be participating in two Question and Answer sessions this race weekend. The first appearance will be Friday, July 23 from 11:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. during Chevy Day at the Brickyard. The second appearance will be the morning of the Brickyard 400 from 9:45 a.m. -- 10:00 a.m.
In the Points: After finishing fifth at Chicagoland Speedway, the No. 1 team gained one position in the NSCS points standings moving up one spot to18th and now sits 181 points from 12th- the cutoff for the Chase.
CHASSIS INFO
No. 1 Bass Pro Shops / Tracker Boats Chevrolet (NSCS): Chassis #905. Jamie McMurray will pilot chassis #905 for the fourth time this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The chassis was last used in the Coke 600 at Charlotte where McMurray finished second. While running at Dover, where McMurray ran in the top-10 for over half the event, mechanical issues forced a 32nd-place finish. This chassis was also used in March at Atlanta finishing 29th after an on-track incident while running in the top-five.
