Robby Gordon Quotes on the 2005 season

"With seven races remaining in the season our goals are very simple. Create momentum for 2006. It's no secret that as a first year team we have had our challenges, but if only a couple of things had been different our season would have looked a lot different. We have spent much of the year learning and putting people and systems in place. That has been a huge task and we will see the results of this next season even more than we are seeing it in the second half of this season. Today we are much better than when we arrived in Daytona at the beginning of the year and by the time we return next year we will be much better than we are now. If this sport was an easy, I'm sure everybody would be doing it."

On going to Kansas City

"Kansas is much like Chicago. It's a fast, smooth mile and a half track that I really like. I had some strong runs at Kansas in the past with RCR and we had a very competitive car when we were in Chicago back in July. Menard Engineering continues to raise its game with the motor program and we really believe that great things are yet to come from them. Greg and all of the guys in the shop continue to impress me."

What happen in Talladega?

"We got off to a great start last weekend -- running well in both practice session on Saturday. Unfortunately we experienced an overheating problem almost instantly when the green flag dropped. It's something that never showed in practice. If you look on the bright side we probably saved the body shop from quite a few headaches by running around in the back. We managed to miss all the carnage and bring the speedway car home in one piece. Essentially all we have to put a new nose and tail on the car and roll it out for Daytona."
