Lepage, McClure, Ifft quotes on Texas run

The No. 4 KODAK MAX Film Monte Carlo took a gamble in the Harrah's 500 on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. While many cars pitted during a caution period on Lap 313 and changed only two tires, the Morgan-McClure Motorsports team opted for a four tire change. They came into the pits in seventh and finished the race in a respectable 11th place. This marks the second week in a row that Kevin Lepage has driven the No. 4 Monte Carlo to a top-15 finish. It also marks the second week with Lepage behind the wheel.

Kevin Lepage, driver of the No. 4 Kodak Monte Carlo, quotes "The smile on my face probably says it all. My hats off to this KODAK MAX Film team. I cannot say enough about these guys. We came here Friday with a car I had never been in. The guys at the body shop worked real hard to get it prepared. The car was just evil to drive. "We were going to go home Friday before qualifying. Larry McClure, David Ifft, myself and all of the guys put our heads together and we did a bunch of changes and got in the show. Then yesterday during Happy Hour we were not that good either. I ran the Busch Race and found some things that we contributed over here. We applied part of it. It was two different race cars between yesterday and today. We worked our tails off all during the race. I thought we had a top-10 car there at the end, but a bunch of guys took two tires. We are points racing right now. So we opted for four tires in hopes of being there at the end. "Yesterday was a big confidence booster for me. I started the Busch race in 41st and finished 10th. Today we started 34th and finished 11th. A lot of the things we learn from week to week can carry over. I am really happy for the guys on this team. They did a great job in the pits. Everything worked out well. We finished better than we did last week. "Larry McClure just told me I have earned another week with him, so we will go on to Martinsville and see if we can get a top-10. We will see what happens after that."

Larry McClure, owner of the No. 4 Kodak MAX Film Chevy, quote "I think the car was a little testy all day. The weather changed on us. We kept working on it. Really the only thing we have changed in two weeks time is the driver, we have added Kevin. He has done a good job for us. I guess this team does remember how to race. We will go to Martinsville and try to improve on it. Kevin will be in the car at Martinsville."

David Ifft, crew chief of the No. 4 Monte Carlo, quotes "We have to get our qualifying package better. That is what we have to work on now. I am starting to learn Kevin more and more. I am learning what he wants in the car and I can make better adjustments for him. Our pit stops need a little fine tuning. The motor program is good, handling needs a little tweaking. Am I having fun now? It is getting better. It is really getting better."
