Watkins Glen, NY (August 9, 2000) - Lindsay Fellows, daughter of road racing whiz Ron Fellows, will sing the American and Canadian national anthems prior to Sunday's Global Crossing @ The Glen NASCAR Winston Cup Series race. The U.S. Air Force Special Tactics and Rescue Specialist (STARS) Team and the National Warplane Museum will also participate in the opening ceremonies celebration.

Ms. Fellows will sing both national anthems, which is a tradition at Watkins Glen. She gave a stirring performance of the Canadian National Anthem prior to the 1999 Bully Hill 150 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Watkins Glen.

The 16 year old, who celebrated her birthday on August 5, has been studying voice for about 18 months. She is the oldest child of Ron and Linda Fellows.

"I am excited and honored to perform both the United States and Canadian Anthems at Watkins Glen," said the Mississauga, Ontario native. "It's really special for Dad and I to have the opportunity to bring together my love of singing and his love of racing! It's going to be a great weekend for the whole family."

The US STARS team will be perform while Lindsay sings both national anthems. They are a precision parachute demonstration team that is comprised of combat-ready members from the U.S. Air Force Combat Controllers and Para Rescuemen. They have over 250 jumps to their credit.

STARS' mission is to bring awareness and understanding to the public through their jumping demonstrations. They also contribute to the search and recuse missions of Air Force planes downed in combat. The specially trained soldiers perform demonstrations at sporting events and special events.

The National War Plane Museum will also perform a flyover at the end of the national anthems. The lead plane will be T-6 Texan, a World War II advanced training plane that will be piloted by Lee Robbins. The plane will fly across the front stretch and over the crowd. The other two planes are the PT-26 flown by Nick McKinney and PT-19 with Kevin Howey behind the controls. Both of the PT planes are on display at The National Warplane Museum, located at 17 Aviation Drive in Horseheads, NY.
