Marcos Ambrose preview

Event: Las Vegas

Ambrose's Take on Las Vegas Motor Speedway: "Vegas is a fun track to race at and it's really fast. I'm excited to race on our first 1.5-mile track of the season and see what we've got. Intermediate tracks make up the majority of the schedule, so a good run at Vegas will give us confidence going into the rest of the season. I've got good equipment and I've got a great team behind me, so I'm looking forward to seeing what my Stanley Ford can do this weekend."

Ambrose's Thoughts After Phoenix: "Phoenix was a great learning experience for my team and I feel like we really got some stuff figured out last weekend. We got a solid finish, so it was a good day for me and my Stanley crew. I know we've got good equipment and can do really well, we just had to get started somewhere and Phoenix was a pretty good start. Our communication was great throughout the weekend and I feel like we've got a good vibe going."

Crew Chief Todd Parrott's Thoughts on Racing at Vegas: "Going to Vegas this year we have a completely different race car than we had last year. This year we have a new nose and we have a spoiler instead of a wing on the back. The first practice on Friday is going to be critical to see where we are at with the car. We've got to have a fast car with a lot of engine. Horsepower is big at Vegas and we've got to have the car set up where it will get a little free on entry and Marcos can use everything the car has to drive it into the corners deep, so it will turn though the center."

Parrott on Preparing for Vegas: "I'm looking forward to going to Vegas. I like 1.5-mile tracks and this is going to be our first intermediate track of the year. We've been to a superspeedway with Daytona and a short track with Phoenix, but this will be our first 1.5-mile track for the Stanley team this year. It's going to be another learning experience for us this weekend and a chance for us to work on our race lingo."

Chassis History: The No. 9 RPM team has prepared chassis No. 735 for the 400.5-mile race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This is a brand new Stanley Ford Fusion.

Australian Word of the Week: Good on Ya Good Job or Good for You

Notes: Ambrose has two career starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with an average finish of 17th position. Completing 551 of 552 laps attempted, Ambrose has an average of 99.8 percent of laps completed at the 1.5-mile oval.

Ambrose gained 10 spots in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver point standings after his 16th-place finish in Phoenix last weekend and will enter Vegas 27th in the points.
