ELLIOTT SADLER QUOTES

"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to drive for Evernham Motorsports. I love Ray's (Evernham) enthusiasm, and all the guys in the shop seem to follow his lead on that. I can't wait to get into the seat of the No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger. This weekend can't get here fast enough. I'm looking forward to being a part of the Evernham Motorsports team, working with Kasey (Kahne) and Scott (Riggs) week-in and week-out. I've known Kasey for the last couple of years. Scott and I used to race each other in dirt late models about 10 years ago. I can't thank Ray enough for giving me the opportunity to drive for such a great organization and represent Dodge, UAW, Valvoline, Stanley and everybody that's on this race car."

"I'm very excited. Ray has a lot of passion for this sport. He has the will to win. Going to the shop this week, (I realized that) he definitely has the resources I think to take me, Scott and Kasey to the next level. From where he started a couple of years ago to where his company is now, he's come a long way in a short time. That starts with the man at the top, so I'm very, very excited about being a part of his program. I'm very excited about working with Kasey. I've been friends with him for a while. I used to race against Scott years ago around South Boston and Orange County, so I have a great relationship with him. I'm just looking forward to getting started this weekend. I think this team is prepared for the future as well as anybody."

Elliott Sadler is making his first start this weekend in Ray Evernham's No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger.

In preparation for his first start with the new team, Sadler and the No. 19 Dodge Charger team tested at Kentucky Speedway on Wednesday.

Sadler and Evernham announced Wednesday that a multi-year agreement between Sadler and Evernham Motorsports had been executed.

The No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger was in Victory Lane at Michigan International Raceway in the 2005 GFS Marketplace 400.

Sadler has five top-10 starts at MIS, has led 22 laps and has a 91 percent lap-completion rate at Michigan.

The lasting NASCAR legacy after Dale Earnhardt’s death

On February 18, 2001, seven-time NASCAR Cup champion Dale Earnhardt – the fearless ‘Intimidator’ – was in his element at Daytona International Speedway. While his own DEI team’s cars ran 1-2 towards the finish line, his famed #3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Monte Carlo was playing rear gunner to block any late runs from the chasing pack. As the cars tore through Turns 3 and 4 on that fateful final lap, Earnhardt maintained the strongarm tactics that encapsulated his persona… but his actions in those moments sadly proved to be his last.
