Crew chief Bootie Barker and Germain Racing to part ways
Robert “Bootie” Barker will part ways with Germain Racing at the end of the year.
The team announced on Tuesday that a new crew chief will be named at a later date.
Barker, 46, will continue as the crew chief for the No. 13 Geico Chevy and Ty Dillon for the remainder of the season. The Halifax, Virginia native was first promoted to crew chief for Dave Blaney and the No. 77 Jasper Racing team in 2003 and has held that position with various teams for the last 15 seasons. He had worked with Germain since 2009.
Dillon is currently 24th in the Monster Energy Cup Series standings. The 25-year-old rookie’s best finish this season was 11th at Talladega Superspeedway.
