How the 2021 Cup Schedule may forever change NASCAR racing
NASCAR clearly followed through on big changes to its 2021 Cup Series schedule, including a trio of new road course venues, but more work lies ahead.

“2021 is a real bold step,” Steve O’Donnell, NASCAR’s executive vice president and chief racing development officer, said on Wednesday. “We’ll be looking to make more changes (in 2022).”
The immediate changes for the 2021 schedule, however, are plenty and while they won’t affect the 10-race playoff format which decides the championship, they will greatly change the landscape of the regular season used to determine which drivers compete for the title.
