The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend for the Bank of America 500. Dave Blaney will be behind the wheel of the Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet in the team’s second start at the 1.5-mile track.

CHASSIS NO. 293 – Blaney will pilot the No. 293 chassis this weekend. Blaney drove the chassis at Kentucky Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the fall event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this year. Stephen Leicht also piloted the chassis this season at Richmond International Raceway September 10th. TBR purchased the chassis from Richard Childress Racing where Jeff Burton drove the chassis prior to its debut with TBR.

In The Points | The team's 31st-place finish in Kansas moved the TBR No. 36 team up to the 32nd position in NSCS Owner Points. The team is now five points ahead of the No. 13 and 74 points behind the No. 34 in the 31st spot. The No. 36 is locked into the top-35 by 55 points. Blaney gained on Casey Mears in 31st and is now just 21 points behind Mears in the 32nd position in NSCS Driver Points. He also extended his lead over Andy Lally in 33rd to a 17-point lead.

Dave Blaney Quotes:

On Racing at Charlotte: “It’s always fun racing close to home. Being a home race, everybody wants to run well. Charlotte is a great facility. I really enjoy racing at night there. They added a big screen in the spring, and that was a pretty cool addition. Charlotte is also near Golden Corral’s corporate headquarters, so that makes it exciting for us as well. We hope we can put on a good show for them and let kids eat free on Monday with a top-10 finish.”

Tommy Baldwin Quotes:

On This Weekend: “It’s good to be home this weekend. I look forward to our second race with the Luke car. This is a good track for Dave. We are taking our two best cars, so we hope we can run well with both cars.”
