On Thursday, July 23, 1998, the City of York, Pennsylvania will host the fifth annual "Invasion of NASCAR". This event will take place in downtown York, Pa. from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ten of NASCAR's top stars will signing free autographs as ...

On Thursday, July 23, 1998, the City of York, Pennsylvania will host the fifth annual "Invasion of NASCAR". This event will take place in downtown York, Pa. from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Ten of NASCAR's top stars will signing free autographs as part of the day's activities.

DRIVERS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR

12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Michael Waltrip Steve Park Randy LaJoie

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Bobby Hamilton

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Chad Little Sterling Marlin

5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Jeremy Mayfield Ken Schrader Brett Bodine

5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Bill Elliott

In addition to free autographs fans will get to ride the Dupont NASCAR Simulator or test their driving skills on a remote control race track. There will also be a "kids area" where they can play in the Burger King Whopper Hopper or win candy from M & M Mars.

Live entertainment will be provided throughout the day courtesy of "The Motors" and "Diamondback".

Free shuttle service will be provided from parking areas at the York Fairgrounds. Shuttles will be running every 15 minutes starting at 8:00 a.m.

A silent auction will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to benefit "York County Special Olympics" and York City Children and Youth Programs. Auction items range from a Bill Elliott autographed race tire to a pair of shoes worn by Tina Turner.
