NASCAR releases bulletin with several updates
NASCAR released a bulletin on Wednesday updating testing policy, event procedures, vehicle and driver safety and tire allocation for the Monster Energy Cup Series Rulebook.
NASCAR will add a sixth Goodyear tire test for 2017. The confirmation test will be held on July 18 at Darlington Raceway. Five teams are expected to participate including a representative from Chip Ganassi Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Team Penske, Stewart-Haas Racing and Furniture Row Racing.
Under vehicle safety (18.104.22.168.1 Driver’s Window Net) the top and bottom bars holding the net must be straight. For Windshield Support and Structure (22.214.171.124) — all braces must remain in contact with the inner windshield surface — and Rear Window Support and Support (126.96.36.199) rear window braces must remain in contact with inner rear window surface.
Finally, NASCAR updated Cup event procedures, as well as the points and point fund, to reflect the additional 100-lap stage in the Coca-Cola 600.
NASCAR also introduced new decal guidelines for the Camping World Truck Series.
