Special Paint Scheme on No. 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet to Feature Photos of Veterans

FORT KNOX, Ky. (Aug. 2, 2010) -- The U.S. Army and Stewart-Haas Racing announced today a special paint scheme for Ryan Newman's No. 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet which gives veterans the opportunity to put their faces on the Soldiers' car running in the Kobalt Tools 500 Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway on Nov. 14.

Starting today, veterans, along with their families, friends and loved ones, can go online and submit photos of the men and women who have embraced the call of duty and helped build and protect our country at www.goarmy.com/yourphotohere.

All veterans are eligible for inclusion among the photos in the special paint scheme. Images of Soldiers will be collected through Sept. 24. Those selected will be featured on the hood, trunk, side panels and bumpers when Newman gets behind the wheel of the No. 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet in Phoenix.

"What a cool way for us to say 'thank you' and honor the Army Strong Soldiers who have served our country," said Newman. "This is the Soldiers' car and having the faces of the brave men and women of the U.S. Army represented will be a great inspiration and a powerful reminder of what it means to be Army Strong."

The special paint scheme will serve as an extension of Veterans Day (Nov. 11) when, as a country, we honor and remember the heroism, courage and dedication displayed by our veterans. While the nation remembers the service of its veterans, the millions watching the Kobalt Tools 500 at home and the tens of thousands more at the track will get a chance to see some of the faces who represent the true heroes of the Army.

Each picture, each face, is a reminder of the sacrifice and service of the millions who have made our Army strong and our nation free."
