Busch's Pit Crew Scores New Hampshire Win; Sadler's Crew Closing in on Points Lead

Pacing Kurt Busch to victory in Sunday's Siemens 300 Nextel Cup race at New Hampshire International Speedway was his pit crew, which took top honors in the McDonald's Drive-Thru Pit Championship fueled by POWERade.

It was the third time this season that Busch's No. 97 crew pocketed the first-place prize that is worth $20,000 for each win. The other pit crew victories for Busch's team were at Las Vegas and Martinsville.

In the quest for the $200,000 McDonald's/POWERade bonus that goes to the crew that garners the most points at the end of the season, Dale Earnhardt's team has a slim six-point lead over Elliott Sadler's crew (690- 684). Busch's team remains in fifth place with 652 points.

Busch's IRWIN Industrial Tools Ford spent the least amount of time on New Hampshire's pit road --113.812 seconds. Stewart's Home Depot Chevrolet came in second with a time of 115.241. Third was Jamie McMurray's Texaco/Havoline Dodge at 119.200.

"These IRWIN guys really stepped it up to show what being a team is all about," said crew chief Jimmy Fennig. "Our car chief stayed in Charlotte over the weekend with his wife to have a baby, so the rest of the guys all did more than their fair share to fill in and make sure everything was perfect. The over-the-wall guys hit their marks all day during those three stops and helped us gain some positions in the pits."

Busch's over-the-wall crew consists of: Scott Ward (front tire changer), Mark Full (front tire carrier), Kevin Gilman (rear tire changer), Jason Binger (rear tire carrier), Doug Newell (gasman), Scott Radel (jackman) and Jim Gaudette (catch can).
