REED SORENSON (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger)

"Going out early was bad and we were a little tight. That's as fast as we could go, and that's all you can do. I know we picked up, but everybody else will pick up, too."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)

"I think for when we went out it was a great lap. The guys are doing a good job. We're working hard to turn this season around. We had a good race last week at Dover and it's been a fun week. We get to race on dirt on Wednesday night at Eldora for the Victory Junction. We were in a golf tournament yesterday for Tommy Baldwin Sr. It's been a good week. I got loose, a little sideways into one and kinda drove through it. I probably didn't get through that corner as good as I'd like. Other than that, for when we went out, I think it was a pretty good lap and we'll see where it ends up."

***

DAVID STREMME (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Charger)

"It was an OK lap. We came here this year and can't use any of our notes from last year because we were just not very good. I mean I think it's OK. We're gaining a lot. It was just a little bit too free there. As long as we're in the top 20 we'll be OK and get to work on Sunday. The car is just loose right now, but everybody has been working hard on the Coors Light Dodge. We starting over without a notebook, and that hurts, but I think we're going to be all right."

***

KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)

"You just let the rough edges drag. We had to shake down the car in qualifying. Now we've got tomorrow's practice to work on it and make it better, so we're not behind the eight ball yet. We'll keep working on it keep digging. We're here to do our job and whatever cards we're dealt we're going to work with them. We've got Sunday's race to make up some points and that's what we plan to do."

BUSCH WILL RACE A BACKUP CHARGER THAT'S NEVER RACED BEFORE. HE HIT THE WALL TWICE IN PRACTICE THIS MORNING IN HIS PRIMARY CHARGER "The car got real loose and got out from underneath me. I think the harder right-side tires or something I didn't compensate for. We changed the motor already, and we're ready to go with our backup. This is the first lap we've made with it, so a few things are dragging the racetrack."

***

CHAD McCUMBEE (Goody's Cool Orange Dodge Charger)

"We had to qualify a little later than we wanted to, but I was fairly happy with the way we practiced. I told Billy Wilburn yesterday about some changes I'd like to make. We made ''em and it paid off. I've got to thank everybody at Petty Enterprises. This is a great opportunity for me."

***

ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)

"I'm very happy with that. The guys made some good changes and I messed up a little bit as a driver. I left a little bit of time in the tunnel turn. All-in-all it was a good run."
