CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Robert Yates Racing announced today that effective immediately Todd Parrott will reassume crew chief duties for Dale Jarrett and the #88 UPS Racing Team. Jimmy Elledge, who had served in the crew chief capacity since the start of the 2002 season, is still an employee of Robert Yates Racing but is free to look for a position with other NASCAR teams.
"Todd (Parrott) is going to reassume the position of crew chief," said Robert Yates, owner of the #88 team. "Jimmy Elledge is still an employee of Robert Yates Racing, but he is exploring other options. We think he is a very talented individual and our doors will always be open to him."
Parrott, who had served in the team manager position since December 2001, will reassume the position he worked in with the #88 team from 1996 to 2001. Parrott led the team to the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series championship and has scored 24 wins as crew chief with the #88 team.
