JEFF PURVIS BRINGS HIS #44 DAVID LEE MURPHY MCA/NASHVILLE CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO TO TALLADEGA, APRIL 28TH

Country music's fastest rising star, DAVID LEE MURPHY, will be in attendance to cheer on Jeff Purvis and his #44 MCA/Nashville Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Sunday, April 28th on one of the fastest NASCAR tracks, the Winston Select 500, at the Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.

As primary sponsor of Purvis' #44 car, MCA/Nashville has utilized graphics from Murphy's debut album, Out With A Bang, on the hood of the car and panels. MCA and DAVID LEE MURPHY is the first country music team to be so prominently represented in NASCAR.

"Being from Clarksville, you kind of grow up with Nashville in your blood. Nashville and NASCAR have worked together real well for a while now and what better way to do it than with the hottest label going, MCA. We kicked off the season in Daytona and in Talledega I'd like to bring home a win for all of us. I'm ready to do it the David Lee Murphy way - out with a bang," said Purvis.

"This whole racing experience has been incredible. It is such an honor to have my name and picture on a car that is running so well. Purvis and his party crowd crew are first rate and I wish them the best," states MURPHY from the road. He is currently on tour with Brooks & Dunn throughout 1996.

DAVID LEE MURPHY's rise to stardom in 1995 started with the down-to- earth sing-along hits "Party Crowd", "Dust on the Bottle" and "Out With A Bang." His debut album, Out With A Bang, is nearing platinum status (sales of 1 million) and the single "Party Crowd" was the most played song of 1995 according to Radio & Records and Network 40 magazines.

MURPHY is nominated for the Academy of Country Music award for Best New Male Artist (the show airs on April 24 on NBC) and the TNN/Music City News Award's Star of Tomorrow (the show airs on June 10 on TNN). "Every Time I Get Around You"-- the first single from the forthcoming sophomore release "Gettin' The Good Stuff" in stores May 21st-- is skyrocketing up the charts.

Purvis' professional experience spans a spectrum from dirt track racing as a teenager to running in the lead drafts with the greatest drivers at some of the premier super speedways. Purvis drove the #44 MCA/Nashville Chevrolet Monte Carlo to a #12 finish in the Daytona 500.

MCA Records/Nashville has been the top label in country music as reported by Billboard and Radio & Records magazines for the five past consecutive years. # # #
