MINNEAPOLIS (March 15, 1999) Veteran NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver Ted Musgrave will kick off a 12-race primary sponsorship agreement between Polaris Sales Inc. and Butch Mock Motorsports when he attempts to qualify Friday in a No. 75 Polaris Ford Taurus for Sunday's TranSouth Financial 400 at Darlington Raceway.

Following the event at the famed, 1.366-mile track in Darlington, S.C., Polaris will continue its cooperative effort with full-time primary sponsor Remington Arms in 11 other events.

Beginning with the TranSouth Financial 400, Mock's will run a new blue and yellow paint scheme with Polaris on the hood and rear quarter panels. The blue and yellow Polaris Ford also will run at Miami-Homestead Speedway on Nov. 14 and the NAPA 500 season finale race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Nov. 21.

At the following nine races Polaris will be the primary sponsor with Polaris logos on the hood and rear quarter panels, while the car will keep its current yellow and green paint scheme. Those races include: Bristol Motor Speedway, April 11; Martinsville Speedway, April 18; Talladega Superspeedway, April 25; Bristol, Aug. 28; Darlington, Sept. 3; Richmond International Raceway, Sept. 11; Martinsville, Oct. 3; Lowe's Motor Speedway, Oct. 10; and Talladega Superspeedway, Oct. 17.

In addition to becoming primary sponsor of the No. 75 team for 12 races, Polaris has also worked with team owner Mock to open a state-of-the-art Polaris dealership in Mooresville, N.C., next to the team's race shop.

"Our products are about fun, freedom and the outdoors, just like NASCAR," said Tom Tiller, president and CEO of Polaris. "What's great about working with Ted and Butch is we love watching them and our other NASCAR partners race, and they love riding our products. For our company and for our customers, Polaris and the No. 75 team are a perfect match."

"Polaris is much more than a sponsor to this race team," Mock said. "We are truly marketing partners and consider them a valuable part of this organization."

Polaris became an associate sponsor of the No. 75 Remington Arms Ford prior to the 1998 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season. Since that time, Polaris has increased its motorsports marketing efforts by forming "PRO Team Polaris" a collection of well-known drivers including Rusty Wallace, Richard Petty, Al Unser Jr., and Musgrave, to represent Polaris products in the marketplace by participating in television commercials, print ads, product videos and personal appearances.
