Community Outreach as Walldinger Racing's Tara Ragan Talks to Middle School Students

(11 March, 2010)-Albemarle, NC--Walldinger Racing's Tara Ragan took some time out last week to talk sports marketing to the students at Albemarle Middle School in Albemarle, North Carolina. Ragan has worked with AJ Allmendinger since 2002, and has steered Walldinger Racing since its 2006 inception.

Ragan's visit was part of Abemarle Middle School's annual Career Day event, which gives students a close look at a wide range of professional choices as experts visit the school and discuss different careers and industries.

Since recently relocating to Davidson, North Carolina, Ragan has been actively engaging in the Charlotte area community.

The school, which is located just over an hour east of Charlotte Motor Speedway, hosts the career day on an annual basis to help students focus on their current studies as part of understanding their paths to their future careers.

"I was happy to be invited to an event like this and to get the chance to talk to these students," said Ragan. "Being where we are in the world, they have a lot of passion for NASCAR racing! I was really impressed with their questions about the marketing and business side of the sport. It was also great to see so many girls asking about the sport and seeing their interest in making a career in sports, whether it is racing or the olympics, there is no question that there is a place for women and it was great to hopefully foster some of that interest."

AJ Allmendinger will be back in NASCAR Sprint Cup action at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 21 in the No. 43 Ford Fusion for Richard Petty Motorsports.
