NO. 99 OFFICE DEPOT FORD WILL SPORT SPECIAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL PAINT SCHEME AT WATKINS GLEN

Concord, N.C. (August 9, 2005) - With just five races remaining until the "Chase", Carl Edwards and the No. 99 Office Depot team head to Watkins Glen this week hoping to maintain their spot in the top 10. The team will unload a specially painted No. 99 Office Depot Ford this weekend as Office Depot prepares for millions of children to go back-to-school over the next month. Edwards, once a substitute teacher himself, is hoping that the Back-to-School paint scheme will bring the team a little bit of luck as he plans to make his third career road course start.

"I was at the shop the other day and the back-to-school paint scheme looks awesome," said Edwards. "Education is so important and it's really neat that our sponsor Office Depot is recognizing that." Edwards continued, "This is only my third road course race and I'm hopeful that the special paint scheme will bring us a little luck this weekend. We tested at the track last week and got off to a rough start but I think we learned a lot. I went back and played my computer game a bunch and I think we'll be ready to have a good run this weekend. We would love to win a race for Office Depot and all the students and teachers across the country in celebration of back-to-school; that would be awesome."

Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising/Marketing Officer for Office Depot, Chuck Rubin reiterated Edwards' commitment to recognizing students and teachers. "As nearly 75 million kids across the country prepare to go back into the classroom, Office Depot is celebrating teachers, schools and children this back to school season." Rubin went on to say, "Carl Edwards driving the No. 99 Office Depot Ford with the special Back-to-School paint scheme is the perfect way to showcase Office Depot's commitment to helping kids perform at their very best this school year."

In conjunction with the special race paint scheme, Office Depot has introduced a limited edition die cast model of the No. 99 Office Depot Ford, featuring the Back-to-School paint scheme. The limited edition car model is available exclusively at Office Depot retail locations for $9.99 with any $99 purchase.
