It all started in July 2008 when Tony Stewart shocked the world and announced that, beginning in 2009, he would serve as driver/owner of Stewart-Haas Racing. The team would be co-owned by Stewart and Gene Haas, founder of Oxnard, California-based Haas Automation, Inc., which owned Haas CNC Racing.
Just 10 months later, SHR would score it's first milestone victory with a win in the 2009 All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
