Deodhar steps up to Elite 2 class of Euro NASCAR
Advait Deodhar will graduate to the Elite 2 class of NASCAR Whelen Euro series for this weekend’s Brands Hatch round.
Deodhar ended a three-year racing hiatus in 2018 by joining the Elite Club category of Euro NASCAR, the European edition of the popular American stock car championship.
He made an immediate impression by winning on his series debut at Valencia (Spain) in the Elite Club class, before finishing second in Italy.
After two rounds in the entry-level category, Deodhar will now race for Dexwet - DF1 Racing in the second-tier Elite 2 division. He will drive the outfit’s #66 Chevrolet SS, having previously raced a Camaro for Mishumotors.
Deodhar is currently on a race-by-race contract and plans to take part in at least two more rounds this season.
The former MRF F1600 and MRF Challenge racer is also expected to make further outings in the Elite Club category, where he leads the standings, in a bid to win the class title.
