Pegasus Racing has got a lot of experience in European endurance racing competing in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In 2018 the team will enter the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season with two cars. The French team will begin competition at the season opener in Valencia on April 14-15.

"We've been looking at the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series for three years and we are finally going to be on the starting grid,"  said Pegasus Racing co-founder and team manager Julien Schell, who held the steering wheel in many of the team’s greatest successes. "I tested the car at Fontenay Le Comte and it was a great experience. It’s an awesome car.

"Euro NASCAR is a top-level championship and we love the series’ approach to racing and the great show it puts up around the track everywhere in Europe. We'll keep racing in endurance, but NASCAR will be our main goal."

To learn how the car works in racing conditions Pegasus Racing will undergo an intensive testing program before heading to the first race in Spain. The goal is to be competitive from the beginning.

"We've already planned a test for the end of January when we’ll receive the first car and we are working on a second one in February, possibly at Valencia. We would like to visit all the tracks of the championship to gain the most experience we can", continued Schell.

"We have plenty of work ahead of us, especially since we are going back to sprint racing after years of endurance racing, but we are eager to get going. The competition is at a very high level and with everybody having the same car, you really have to find the little details to gain that last tenth of a second."

The driver lineup and partnerships will be unveiled in the next few weeks.

The team which was founded by Claude and Julien Schell in 1998 has built a great history of success in European racing. After competing in the Formel Ford in Germany they joined endurance racing.

Besides racing in the WEC and ELMS series, the team has also competed in Le Mans four times. The NASCAR Euro Series will be a completely new adventure for the French team.
