“It will bring all of us to the next level.”
That's the statement made by NASCAR Whelen Series President and CEO Jerome Galpin in regards to the 2016-spec car that participants will run next season.
The new look is inspired by the Sprint Cup cars run at the pinnacle of stock car racing in America. Along with a slicker appearance, the safety features have also been improved with this new composite body.
“We are really proud of the work done on the new car ! Of course, the new body is the most spectacular part of it, but our cars never stops improving to deliver to fans and drivers one of the best form of racing in Europe,” added Galpin.
“We will unveil within the next weeks more news about other technical evolutions. Current owners will of course be able to update their 2015 car into the 2016 specs. The NWES is probably the best cost effective Series all over Europe and we want to keep it that way!”
NASCAR's European division is the perfect avenue for aspiring NASCAR drivers in Europe to get a foothold in the industry. First introduced in 2009, the series has attracted well-known names such as Papis and Cheever, as well as new and rising stars looking to make their mark. 2014 Elite champion and known GT racer Anthony Kumpen made his Xfinity debut earlier this year with two more starts planned before the conclusion of the season.
