Auto Trim Design to sponsor Brevak Racing in 1999 By Dave Rodman

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (March 2, 1999) Brevak Racing, a charter team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has a new sponsor, a bigger shop and a new engine lease deal heading into the season opening Florida Dodge Dealers 400 on March 20 at the Miami-Homestead Speedway.

Second-year driver Kevin Cywinski will line up in the No. 31 Auto Trim Design Ford, with crew chief Joe Shear Jr. back to head the pit squad. Tri-Star Motorsports, led by head engine builder Mark Smith, will provide engines to the team this season.

"We are thrilled to have Auto Trim Design Network as a sponsor on the No. 31 Ford," said Cywinski of the Indianapolis-based company's return to the series. "We have a lot of good things happening at Brevak Racing right now. We just moved into a new 10,000-square-foot shop and having Auto Trim Design on board is really a bonus."

Auto Trim Design made its debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 1998 with the Mittler Brothers racing team. ATD Network President Alan Gambill said the decision came down to a "desire to build on what was started in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series last year."

"We felt that the similarity between the typical NASCAR fan and the target consumer of our products and services was so great that it made good sense to be consistent in our advertising efforts," Gambill said. "We also feel that our sponsorship of the Brevak Racing Team will further enable us to display our impressive graphic design skills, as well as other restyling capabilities to NASCAR fans across the country."

Team co-owner Shelly Brevak said the team has five trucks in its shop located at 206 Performance Rd., a building owned by former ARCA and NASCAR Busch Series competitor L.W. Miller. It is located in a hotbed for race shop activity and the move doubled the team's shop space from 1998. The team is still looking for a transporter driver but it recently added two other crew members.

"We're real excited to have them on board after they decided to come back to the truck series," Brevak said of Auto Trim Design's signing, adding that negotiations were continuing with Allied Signal/Bendix, which sponsored the team in several events last year, for additional sponsorship.

The team has acquired two new Ford F-150s from Billy Hess and it tested at Homestead earlier this year.

"The test went pretty well," Brevak said. "The objective was to get Kevin on the race track, because he missed the first eight races last year, including Homestead. Everything went smooth, Kevin learned a lot and we had a progressive couple of days. He picked up every time he went on the race track."

For his part, Cywinski is eagerly anticipating the start of the new year.

"Auto Trim Design is a nationally recognized company on the leading edge of graphic design and application," Cywinski said. "Our team is looking forward to a successful year and we are happy to have their support."

The Auto Trim Design Network is a distributor and installer of auto and truck accessories ranging from electric sunroofs, keyless vehicle entry and remote start systems, as well as leather interiors and sophisticated graphics packages.
