Bristol: Bobby Hamilton preview

Short Track Battles: "Every time we go to Bristol tempers always flare. It's typical of short track racing, so I don't see this event any different than the others. Bristol Motor Speedway has played off that for years. As a driver, I like to race like that because it takes me back to my roots. As an owner, I hate it because you usually bring home a torn up race truck. With three teams the chances of tearing a truck up is pretty high. We seem to be doing a good enough job of that just in these last few weeks. It seems as though all of our teams have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Timothy tore one up last week when Robert Pressley ran over him and then I was cruising along and missed a wreck then Rich Bickle just turned into me. We can't seem to escape the accidents. That's all part of racing though. You just gear yourself up for it at a place like Bristol and try to do the best you can. There is no sense in getting worked up about it though as you can be on the other side of the track and a wreck happen there and you get mangled from behind without even being near the other accident. It's just racing. Or as Andy Petree used to say, "you'll get that with that setup!'"

Richmond Testing: "We are leaving Bristol and going straight to Richmond to test two race trucks, Timothy's and Chase's, and my Cup car. If the Cup car tests well there we are going to attempt to run it in Richmond or maybe even a couple more races this year. We learned a lot by running the Brickyard and thought that we would continue to play off of that with more Cup races. After all it doesn't hurt us to test and learn. If we don't want to race, then we don't have to. That is the beauty part of not running for points. It is nerve racking though when qualifying gets here because I've never been the type of driver that has cared for qualifying. Now I have to put a lot of emphasis on it since we have no points or provisionals to go off of. We realized in Indy that we picked one of the hardest races to ever try to qualify for, and we made it with a pretty good race run. So we're going to try to keep the momentum going."

Off Weekends: "I know off weekends are good for everyone else, but for me I would rather be racing somewhere. It's just something I love to do. If I am at home I am pulled in so many directions of this person needs this and this person needs that. So when I am on the road at a race somewhere it's like a vacation to me. I know I raised my hand to be an owner and field three teams, but when I get some downtime and a break I really don't know what to do with myself. It's like my body wants to keep going and going, but on the other hand it is telling me to stop and enjoy the rest. One day maybe I can do that before I give out."
