"That's pretty close to what we ran earlier, but we still needed to go a little faster. It's going to be close, but there's nothing left to do but watch the rest of the field. We may need a little bit of help to make in the field."

HOW WAS THE TRACK AFTER WINSTON CUP PRACTICE?
"It's slippery. It's really slippery. I think that's mostly due to the rubber laid down by the Cup cars."

NATHAN HASELEU-99-Roush Performance Ford F-150 (Qualified 13th)
YOU PICKED UP TIME FROM PRACTICE.
"That's the best the truck has been all day. That's always a good thing when you go out for your qualifying run and it's your best lap of the day. The guys are working hard and I'm getting more used to the track. We'll go into Happy Hour and try to find some things on the long runs and get the best finish we can out of this thing."

THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, DID YOU NOTICE A CHANGE IN TRACK DURING QUALIFYING AFTER THE CUP TEAMS RAN THEIR TWO-HOUR PRACTICE?
"I think the track has tightened up quite a bit, but we loosened the truck up for the Winston Cup tire rubber being on the track. The guys did a good job of figuring out the track conditions. That's the best we ran all day, so you can't ask for a whole lot more."

CHUCK HOSSFELD-50-JR's Garage Ford F-150 (Qualified 20th)
"I kinda blew it in qualifying. I think I was a little too conservative. I tried not to lock up the left-front (wheel) going into the corners, so to be honest, I wish I could do it again."

YOU'VE RACED MODIFIEDS HERE IN THE PAST. HOW DIFFERENT ARE THE TRUCKS?
"Not too different. It was a couple of years ago, so I don't really remember, but it's definitely a plus being at a track I've run before."

TERRY COOK-29-K Automotive Ford F-150 (Qualified 7th)
"That's one of the few times other than Daytona that we have been able to back up what we've been practicing. I've had a great truck since we unloaded; we did a little testing this week and that has helped us out. We rolled it off the trailer and we very pretty fast, so it was only a matter or fine-tuning. That should get us in the top 10, I don't know where it will stack up when it's all done. We're just looking for a good starting spot because it's tough passing at Martinsville."

WAS THERE A NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN TRACK CONDITIONS BETWEEN PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING?
"Not really, it's about the same. We're a little disappointed, our first lap was our fastest, and I thought our second one would be. I slipped a little bit in Turn 3 on the second lap, I think we could have been a little quicker than that, but nevertheless, we're still pretty pleased with that."

RICK CRAWFORD-14-Milwaukee Electric Tools Ford F-150 (Qualified 23rd)
YOU PICKED UP FROM PRACTICE, DID YOU THINK YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN ANY MORE?
"We're always going to work on getting more. We've got the Milwaukee Heavy Duty Crew doing a great job today. They just changed an engine in 50 minutes; they're doing great work. The truck feels good, we've just got to work on it a little more and keep hammering on it."

AT MARTINSVILLE, DO YOU SET IT UP FOR LONG RUNS?
"Long runs. The way we are, running at a deficit with the Fords, you have to set up for long runs because you can't hammer quick because if you do, they'll be right behind you in your mirror."

MORGAN SHEPHERD-21-Genzman Racing Ford F-150 (Qualified 26th)
"We didn't run too good, the truck just wasn't handling. You need to have a strong engine to push you down the straightaways and good grip getting into the corners, but we didn't have that working for us today."

WILL YOUR EXPERIENCE HERE HELP YOU OVERCOME THAT?
"Not if we don't make the race. If we can get in we'll be OK."

IS THIS THE SAME TRUCK YOU RACED AT DAYTONA?
"It is. We worked on it after Daytona for the short tracks, and it's a pretty good truck, we just need to get in."

RICHARD LANDRUTH-84-Lemon's Auto Parts Ford F-150 (Qualified 11th)
THAT WAS AN IMPRESSIVE RUN.
"Yeah it is, but I thought we could do just a little bit better than that. That wasn't too awful."

DO YOU ATTRIBUTE THAT TO EXPERIENCE HERE?
"I've run Late Models here in the past, but this is my first time in a truck. Experience helps a whole lot here. Plus, I've got a good truck. The Long Brothers have given me a good truck, so I need to thank all of them."

THIS TRUCK RACED WELL HERE LAST YEAR.
"Scott Riggs drove it here last year and had a good run going. I just hope to be able to do that good."

JASON WHITE-86-National Wild Turkey Federation Ford F-150 (Qualified 27th)
"We practiced at a 20.72 (seconds) and just tried a couple of things that didn't work."

THERE ARE SEVEN TRUCKS GOING HOME AND YOU'RE NOT ONE OF THEM.
"Yeah, that's a load off of our shoulders. It's encouraging to make the field without a provisional, but we still would have liked to have gotten a top 10. We were 15th in practice, and only a tenth off of sixth place, but we'll just take it and go on."

YOU MADE THE RACE.
"That's what I've been told, but we've got a problem with our motor. That's taken something away from this. We started getting a skip on the bottom end this morning and it hasn't left yet and we've tried everything to fix it. It just hasn't cleared up yet, so we're probably going to have to change motors and hope for the best."
