RICHMOND, VA -- JD Gibbs is scheduled to make his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start of the year Thursday night in the Kroger 200 at Richmond International Raceway. Gibbs, President of Joe Gibbs Racing, will pilot the # 48 Hot Rod Magazine Chevrolet truck. The 32 year old Gibbs, raced earlier this year in the Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway, finishing 23rd.

Gibbs has raced for many years since graduating from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. After starting in Legends car racing, Gibbs rose through the ranks, competing in NASCAR Late Model cars across North Carolina. After a couple of years spent racing at Concord (NC) Motorsports Park and Tri-County Speedway in Hudson, NC, Gibbs made the move to the NASCAR Busch North Series, finishing second in the Rookie of The Year race. Gibbs has also raced in the NASCAR Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series on a limited basis.

"I am really looking forward to climbing back behind the wheel of the Hot Rod Magazine Chevrolet in Richmond," Gibbs said. "We have all worked hard on this truck and want to give Hot Rod Magazine a strong night of racing."

Gibbs will be joined in the Kroger 200 by his younger brother, Coy, a full-time competitor in the Truck Series. Coy drives the # 20 MBNA sponsored Chevrolet, and currently stands in tenth place in the point standings.

The Kroger 200 will take the green flag Thursday night at 8:00pm EDT. ESPN2 and Motor Racing Network will provide live coverage of the event.
