STORY LINES LEADING INTO KANSAS:

- Cook Ties A Record: Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International driver Terry Cook will tie Rick Crawford's consecutive starts streak at 209 Saturday afternoon at Kansas Speedway. Cook began his consecutive starts streak on January 18, 1998 at Walt Disney World Speedway. Over his 200-plus starts, Cook has racked up five wins, eight pole positions, 24 top-five and 83 top-10 finishes and recently surpassed the $3 million mark in earnings after a ninth-place finish at Michigan International Speedway two weeks ago

- Sponsorship Continues Strong Into Sixth Year: The 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway marks the sixth year Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International has sponsored a race team with driver Terry Cook. Prior to sponsoring a truck team and Cook's racing career, International Truck and Engine Corp. began sponsoring the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1999, called the Power Stroke Diesel 200. It is one of the longest running race sponsorships today in the series

- Cook Teaches Rookie Class: Each week the NCTS holds a rookie drivers meeting prior to the first practice session. Veteran driver, Terry Cook leads the class and teaches the rookies everything from the racing line to avoiding trouble in the corners

- Over The Wall Not Just for Men: Nicole Addison (rear tire changer) is the only female over-the-wall crew member in NASCAR's top-three series. This is her third year in the NCTS and recently was featured in last week's The Sporting News

- Open-Wheel Spotter Now in NASCAR: Tony Hirschman III is the spotter for the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team. Hirschman spotted in the IRL from 1999-2003 with drivers Sarah Fisher and Stephan Gregoire. The Northampton, Pa. native started as a spotter for his father, Tony Sr. in 1996 in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series and has spotted in NASCAR's Busch and Craftsman Truck Series the last three seasons

- Local Angle: Bill Page (Raymore, Mo.) is the gas man and team transport driver with the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team

COOK ON TYING THE CONSECUTIVE STARTS STREAK:

"Never would I have thought after starting my first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race that I would be tying or breaking a consecutive streak of this magnitude. Reaching 200 starts earlier this year at Atlanta and doing it with my brother-in-law, Bobby (East) was a feat in itself so going for the consecutive streak is something special. It doesn't feel like 10 years have past but the memories from my first truck race at Milwaukee, my first truck win at Flemington Speedway and winning my last race at IRP in my sponsor's home race, the Power Stroke Diesel 200 are some of my many highlights. I'm getting more and more people calling me, "The Iron Man" of the series but I remind them that Rick Crawford still holds the record. There's no need to jinx me when I'm this close."

ppc RACING'S HISTORY AT KANSAS SPEEDWAY:

- ppc Racing won the inaugural NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) race at Kansas Speedway with driver Jeff Green in 2001. Green led 29 of 200 laps with teammate, Jason Keller finishing fifth (Keller led 24 laps)

- ppc Racing has five top-10 finishes in the NBS and two in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS)

- Six drivers have started a ppc Racing car and truck at Kansas Speedway: Jason Keller, NBS (2000-04), Jeff Green, NBS (2000-01), Scott Riggs, NBS (2002-03), Lyndon Amick, NBS (2002), Michel Jourdain Jr., NBS (2005) and Terry Cook, NCTS (2004-05)
