July 13, 2009 (Mooresville, N.C.) - Of Todd Bodine's 17 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins, 12 have come at tracks that are between 1 and 2 miles in length. Of those wins, 10 have been at 1.5-mile tracks like Kentucky Speedway. While Bodine has a win in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Kentucky, he is still looking to break into the Sparta, KY, track's Truck Series Victory Lane ceremony with his No. 30 Copart Tundra.
"I enjoy going to Kentucky Speedway. I have always enjoyed the race track and the fans at Kentucky are great," said Bodine, the 2006 Truck Series champion. "We run well at Kentucky but we need to get the monkey off our back and run a whole race there without a (major issue). If we can do that, I know we can get a top-three in the Copart Tundra and with a little good luck, we can get a win. There's no reason we can't get it done."
While Bodine's 86.6 "Driver Rating" for Kentucky Speedway's Truck Series action ranks him tenth according to NASCAR's Loop Data Statistics, Bodine far outranks his fellow Truck Series competitors in the passing category. He leads all drivers with 174 green flag passes. Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. discusses the irony in leading the passing statistics.
"Kentucky is a mile and a half track that should be in our 'win' category. Our mile and a half program has always been strong here at Germain Racing and our trucks at Kentucky have lived up to that reputation. We have passed a lot of other trucks which shows that we are plenty fast there. Unfortunately, we've passed those trucks because we've suffered problems and have had to use up laps fighting to recover from those problems," explained Hillman Jr.
Bodine will race Kentucky in chassis TRD-124 which debuted for the No. 30 team at Kentucky last year and has since earned a victory at Texas Motor Speedway wearing Copart colors.
Copart's sponsorship of the No. 30 Copart Tundra includes the Copart Challenge of Champions. Visit Copart.com now and Vote for Bodine! Watch the Copart Tundra race Saturday night at 7:00 PM Eastern. Watch it on SPEED or hear it on MRN.
