John King to Pilot Third SS Green Light Truck at Martinsville

SS Green Light Racing is pleased to announce that Virginia's John King will pilot the Courtesy Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac No. 07 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger at the Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, October 23rd.

King started his racing career driving Fastrak and StormPay.com Sanctioned Crate Late Models on dirt in 2006 and has over the last two seasons he has successfully transitioned to asphalt in Legends Cars and UARA-Stars Late Models. King ran two NCWTS races earlier in 2010 for Team Gill Racing, finishing an impressive fifteenth in his truck series debut at Bristol.

Three-time ASA National Champion Butch Miller will oversee King's effort in the Courtesy Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac No. 07 Chevrolet at Martinsville. "I was impressed with John's run at Bristol earlier this year," Miller said. "We had a good test last week and I'm looking forward to working with him at Martinsville."

King is looking forward to working with one of the best short-track drivers ever. "I felt like we got along good at the test and we worked together really good," King continued. "It's nice to have someone with Butch's experience to work with as I don't have a lot of experience on radial tires or in the heavier trucks."

"My goal is to get laps in and to finish the race." John added. "Martinsville is the type of track where you can get a good finish if you just stay out of trouble. I know we need to be there at the end."

"I hope to be able to have a solid race and to earn some respect from some of the guys in the series. I've got a open mind, I realize that the truck series is a whole different deal than what I have been running so I want to keep my expectations in line."

SS Green Light Racing General Manager Bobby Dotter is looking forward to having John behind the wheel of the No. 07 Chevrolet. "John has a very good attitude and a positive outlook for this race. Those are great traits for an up and coming driver."
