Jason White Scores Another Top-Ten

Brooklyn, MI -- June 12, 2010. Jason White's SS Green Light Racing entry looked a little bit different in Saturday's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series VFW 200 at the Michigan International Speedway. Driving a Ford this week, White powered to the front of the field and finished seventh behind Aric Almirola.

Rain cut short the second practice session on Friday and that cost the teams valuable practice time at the fast two-mile track. White held the petal to the metal in qualifying, but could only muster the sixteenth quickest time of the thirty-six trucks in attendance at 41.56 seconds at over 173 mph.

Much better in race-trim, at the drop of the green, Jason was on a tear, moving to tenth by the first caution on lap four.

Crew Chief Doug Howe elected for Sunoco racing gas and a chassis adjustment on the first pitstop following another caution on lap eleven. A good stop got White back on the track in fifth place.

Jason called to his team on the radio, "loose in, bouncing around on entry." Howe instructed Jason to turn ON left front blower, turn OFF right front blower to help the loose condition that caused Jason to drop back to seventh when a forty-minute rain delay halted action on lap thirty-eight.

The SS Green Light team made several adjustments during a stop before the green and re-started thirteen on lap forty-one.

Back under green, White powered his way into the top-ten on lap fifty-three.

As the crew prepared for pit stops at the three-quarter mark, Jason was running lap times equal to the leaders and reported he was "loose in the middle, getting tighter, tight off the longer we run," Howe chose to adjust air pressures as the GunBroker.com/rmef.org truck came to the attention of the crew on lap 77.

White stayed on the track when the caution flew for oil on the track on lap 85 holding down the eighth position. At the restart on lap 88, the leaders raced three-wide and Jason picked up one spot as field came off of turn four, moving up to seventh when caution flew for Nelson Piquet who spun through the frontstretch infield grass causing the races last caution.

Restarting seventh with eight laps to go, Jason was in the heat of the action, racing three-wide at the top of the track with Ron Hornaday one lap into green flag run and while the race for lead hotly contested, White settled down solidly in seventh place at the checkers, the GunBroker.com team's third top-ten of the season.

"We had a really good truck," said White after the finish. "The guys did a really good job to build this truck in a couple days, we had a really good finish."

"The Ford was really good, definitely races better than it qualifies," he continued. "The whole team, Doug and everybody did a really good job this weekend. We'll take a couple weeks off, regroup and go to Iowa."

White moved up one spot to seventh in NCWTS point standings, only thirty-four points out of fifth in the standings.

The next NCWTS race for Jason White and the GunBroker.com team is Sunday, July 11th at the Iowa Speedway.
