Campbell Resigns, Steurer Named as Crew Chief for Brewco Motorsports' No. 37 Red Man Team
Central City, Kentucky (September 29, 1998)- Brewco Motorsports Inc. announced today that Mike Steurer of Sylmar, California will be the crew chief for the No. 37 Red Man Chevrolet truck in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the remainder of the year. The decision follows the resignation of Kenneth Campbell, just after the running of the NAPA 250 at Martinsville Speedway on September 26th.
"Kenneth left to pursue other opportunities," said general manager Todd Wilkerson. "We thank Kenneth for the job he did here at Brewco, but he felt he needed to make a change. So we wish him all the luck. The good thing about this change is that we were able to fine a quality replacement in Mike Steurer. He brings a great deal of West Coast experience to this team and should prove to be a sound addition."
Steurer comes to Brewco Motorsports from the NASCAR Winston West Series where he helped lead driver Lance Hooper to the 1996 Rookie of the Year Award and the series Championship all in the same year. Steurer also brings with him a long history of wins at the venues that make up the final four races on the NASCAR Truck Schedule.
"I'm ecstatic to be here," said Steurer. "We have been trying for some time to work out a deal with Brewco, and now that it has happened it's great. I'm having the time of my life. I just want to come here and see if we can get this Red Man team a few solid finishes in the final few races of the year."
