NASCAR bringing 'Caution Clock' concept to Truck Series

Series officials explained what this new concept means for the third tier of NASCAR's national divisions today.

NASCAR's Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will be utilizing a so-called 'Caution Clock' in each 2016 event, with the exception of the dirt race at Eldora.

The clock will be on a 20-minute timer at the start of each green flag and when the countdown runs out, a mandatory competition caution will be triggered.

No free pass will be granted during a yellow caused by the Caution Clock. If a caution period is ignited before the time expires, the clock will be reset at the start of the subsequent restart.

The clock will be turned off with 20 laps to go at most events, and with 10 laps to go at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Pocono Raceway.
