RHR said in a release that the driver — and great grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France — was contracted for just the first three races of 2016 in the No. 11 Toyota Tundra.

“We wish Ben all the best in his career,” RHR team owner Tom DeLoach said. “Red Horse Racing will continue to focus on pursuing the championship with Timothy Peters and the No. 17.

“We expect to field two teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and we will announce further plans as they are confirmed.”

Kennedy, 24, is currently 13th in the truck standings. He has competed in two full seasons on the tour and finished ninth in points in both 2014 and 2015. In 53 starts, Kennedy has earned one pole (Atlanta), six top fives and 16 top-10 finishes. His career-best finish was third in four races.

"I wish Red Horse Racing and Timothy the best for the 2016 season and beyond," Kennedy said. "I thank them for their support since 2015 as I have enjoyed competing with them. However, I'm interested in pursuing other racing opportunities in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and possibly the NASCAR XFINITY Series. I love NASCAR racing, and I'm eager to continue to compete, learn and improve."

He joined Red Horse racing at the start of the 2015 season.
