O'REILLY AUTO PARTS JOINS TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY AS RACE SPONSOR

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Oct. 7, 1999) - Drivers at next week's truck race at Texas Motor Speedway will be seeing more green than just the start flag. The Shamrock colors of O'Reilly Auto Parts will be flying high as the new sponsor of the race. The O'Reilly 300 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, formerly the Bluebonnet 300, is set for next Friday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 pm at the speedway. In 2000, O'Reilly will be doing double duty as sponsor of not only the fall truck race but also the inaugural O'Reilly Texas World Finals sprint car race set for Oct. 12 and 14.

"Throughout the past 40 years, O'Reilly Auto Parts has established strong, loyal relationships with our customers, a large portion of which are racing fans," said O'Reilly vice president of advertising and marketing Ron Byler. "We are committed to our customers and, through our new partnership with Texas Motor Speedway, we are showing our support not just of an exciting sport, but of something of great importance to our customers."

The 1999 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship is taking shape as the battle for the title runs through Texas next week. The O'Reilly 300 will be the springboard that could catapult a team to the championship.

"We are pleased to have O'Reilly Auto Parts as our sponsor for these races," speedway general manager Eddie Gossage said. "This is the beginning of an exciting association that will continue to provide great racing for our fans."

Qualifying for the O'Reilly 300 is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 14, at 5:30 pm with the race set for Friday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 pm. For ticket information, contact Texas Motor Speedway at 817-215-8500.
