Townley to miss second Truck race with possible concussion
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver John Wes Townley will sit out his second consecutive race while under treatment for a possible concussion.
His Athenian Motorsports team released a statement on Monday that said ARCA driver Brady Boswell will drive Townley’s No. 05 Chevrolet in Wednesday night’s race at Eldora Speedway.
Current NBC NASCAR analyst Parker Kligerman will drive Townley’s entry in Friday night’s ARCA race at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Ind.
The release said Townley, 26, is scheduled to re-evaluated by his physician on July 25 he hopes to gain medical clearance to return to competition in both the ARCA and Trucks series at Pocono Raceway.
Boswell, 19, has competed in six ARCA races this season with Mason Mitchell Motorsports. He has one top-five and three top-10 finishes. Like Townley, Boswell is a resident of Watkinsville, Ga., and both are graduates of North Oconee High School in Bogart, Ga.
