NASCAR Busch Series Crew Chief Fined

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2004) -- The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) has fined Ted A. Kennedy, crew chief for the No. 51 Dodge driven by Kevin Conway, $5,000 due to an infraction found last week during NASCAR Busch Series pre-practice and qualifying inspections at Daytona International Speedway.

Kennedy was penalized under Section 12-4-A of the NASCAR Rule Book (actions detrimental to stock car racing); and Section 12-4-Q (any determination by NASCAR Officials that parts and/or equipment used in the Event do not conform to NASCAR rules).

The No. 51's carburetor venturis exceeded specified size.
