DAVIDSON, North Carolina - January 4, 2001 - Fans are prepared for quite a show as the Busch Series Ladies Association hosts The Ninth Annual Busch Series Preview presented by Team Monte Carlo. The event will take place Friday, January 5 at the Charlotte Convention Center from 1:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Although many activities are planned during the Preview, including both a live and silent auction, the fans arrive by the thousands for that one special chance to shake hands with their favorite drivers and walk away with a coveted autograph.

NASCAR racing fans who attend the Preview have always been appreciative, waiting in lines to accept autograph cards from the well-known drivers and rookies of the Series. It was only three years ago when a driver named Matt Kenseth sat at the newcomers autograph table receiving well-wishes from fans who had never heard of him before. Now, he returns to the Preview as a fan favorite - the newly crowned NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year.

As NASCAR Busch Series rookies including Larry Foyt, Christian Elder and Marty Houston sign autographs with the other drivers from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., they will gain an appreciation for the fans' tremendous support of the NASCAR Busch Series.

"With the history of the Houston family in this Series, I am so excited to be a part of this event," commented NASCAR Busch Series rookie Marty Houston. "Having so many people expected to attend, it makes me feel part of something great. The Preview shows people how much the NASCAR Busch Series has grown in the last few years."

If any of the rookies wanted to get an idea for just how popular the Busch Series has become, they simply need to pay a visit to the special guests who will also be signing autographs. NASCAR Busch Series two-time champions Sam Ard ('83, '84), and Jack Ingram ('82, '85) along with Tommy Houston and Randy LaJoie ('97) will be on hand to promote the upcoming book, Second to None, written by Rick Houston.

The book, which will be available in June, 2001, offers a comprehensive and lively review of the history of the Busch Series. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of the book will support the Busch Series Ladies Association.

With so many NASCAR greats in one place, fans will enjoy an experience of a lifetime. The doors open at 1:00 p.m. and admission is a $10 donation for adults; children under the age of 12 are admitted at no charge. Proceeds from the Preview go to support the many efforts of the BSLA. The BSLA, founded in 1996, works to promote the sport of stock car racing through its programs of assistance and support for all Busch Series families. This effort includes raising funds to provide financial help for all race participants suffering injury or tragedy. To learn more information about the organization log on to www.buschladies.com.
