The left side Goodyear Eagle radials being supplied for this weekend’s NASCAR Busch Grand National Series Gumout Long Life Formula 200 at New Hampshire International Speedway are the same tire used last year. The compound of the right side tire is slightly harder than that used in 1997.
“We have changed the right side tire to a slightly harder compound for this event,” noted Carolyn Ashbee, representative for Goodyear . “Last year’s BGN race was run in very cool weather resulting in no tire wear issues. However, at the Winston Cup event later in the summer, the weather was much hotter and we experience some minor concerns with the wear. The new compound was designed to improve both wear and performance.
“The New Hampshire event is always extremely competitive,” Ashbee said. “We are looking for Saturday’s race to produce the same level of excitement for the fans.”
ESTIMATED PIT STOPS FOR SATURDAY’S RACE: APPROXIMATELY EVERY 85 TO 90 LAPS. (ESTIMATE IS BASED ON FUEL CONSUMPTION.)
