Phoenix International Raceway -- October 27, 2001

Jeff Green On Phoenix: Jeff Green, 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Champion and driver of the No. 10 Nestle Nesquik Ford Taurus, has yet to log a win at Phoenix International Raceway.

"Phoenix is kind of like a big Memphis, but turns one and two are like Richmond and turns three and four are like Loudon," said Green. "I guess it would be fair to say the track has the characteristics of all three tracks. We've ran strong at all three of those tracks this year and practically dominated the race at Memphis two weeks ago, so I expect us to have a strong shot a winning this weekend at Phoenix."

"The key to success at Phoenix is to keep up with the changes of the racetrack in regards to the weather, especially the heat, because it can really affect the car's handling," said Green. "In that respect, Phoenix is a lot like Charlotte in how weather sensitive it is."

Jeff Green on the Championship Battle: Since the Bristol fall event, Green has gained 216 points over Harvick. Green currently sits 203 points behind Harvick with three races to go in the season.

"The only way we are going to catch Harvick is if he messes up, whether he's involved in a wreck or has a mechanical failure," said Green. "Our goal for the Nesquik Racing team is to try to win three more races. That is the only way we will gain the most points and have a shot at Harvick. I think after what we've accomplished over the last month with two wins, we definitely are still in it for the championship. We won't give up until the checkered flag flies at Homestead."

Equipment: Green and his Nesquik Racing team are taking the same car to Phoenix that has competed earlier this year at Loudon (finished 4th), Nazareth (finished 3rd), Milwaukee (finished 9th), IRP (finished 6th), Richmond fall (finished 22nd) and Memphis (finished 2nd). This car has yet to log a win in its history.

Jeff Green Appearance: Green will be signing autographs on Thursday, October 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the NASCAR Zoomfest located at the Arizona Center in downtown, Phoenix.
