Ken Schrader, driver of the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Andy Petree Racing Chevrolet, will make his 17th start at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Busch Series. In his previous 16 starts, he has recorded five top-five and six top-10 finishes.
"I am excited about running in the Busch Series again at Charlotte," said Schrader. "Charlotte is a great track because it is extremely fast with a lot of passing on the entire race track. I also won a Winston Cup race there in 1989, so that adds to the excitement of running there. It is also nice, because the Charlotte area is not only my home, but it is the home track for Oakwood Homes. They are headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., so winning a Busch Series race for them there would be very special."
Andy Petree Racing is taking to Charlotte the same car they finished 10th with at Darlington in early September.
"I'm always optimistic about our chances with Schrader as our driver," said Jeff Swann, crew chief of the Oakwood Homes Chevrolet. "We were pleased with the car at Darlington and are looking forward to running it again. We are realizing how tough the Busch Series is, but we will work on putting forth a good qualifying effort and go from there."
Oakwood Homes will have their 44-foot ‘Racing Sellabration' Dream Home on display at Charlotte Motor Speedway from Wednesday, September 30 through Sunday, October 4. The special edition home features a racing themed room with furniture designed exclusively for this home. Items include a victory lane bed, lamp and framed photos of Ken Schrader and the Oakwood Homes transporter.
