Lycos to sponsor Kenseth in '98
HAMPTON, Ga. (March 4, 1998) Lycos, Inc., will announce its sponsorship of the No. 17 Chevrolet and driver Matt Kenseth on the NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division in a press conference Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Lycos, Inc. will also unveil plans for dedicated areas on Lycos for Team Lycos and NASCAR racing, located at www.lycos.com.
Kenseth, a native of Madison, Wis., started the 1998 season with a flourish, winning the second race of the year in dramatic fashion with a last lap pass of leader Tony Stewart to claim the GM Goodwrench Service Plus 200 at North Carolina Speedway.
After three events, Kenseth is currently fourth in the NASCAR Busch Series standings.
Kenseth and his team are preparing for Saturday's Stihl Outdoor Tools 300 at Atlanta. The event, scheduled for 1 p.m. EST, will be the first at the 1.5-mile superspeedway for Kenseth. Last season, the No. 17 Chevrolet sat on the Bud Pole for this event, with Tim Bender behind the wheel.
The press conference will also feature Robbie Reiser, who owns the team, and Jack Roush, owner of Roush Racing.
