Conyers, GA (Thursday, October 16th, 2003) - - NASCAR Busch Series rookie Jimmy Henderson is hoping that his NASCAR Busch debut will finally arrive this weekend from Memphis Motorsports Park located in Memphis, Tennessee.

Henderson, who will pilot the No. 63 Henderson Motorsports Pontiac Grand Prix, has been unable to make his debut in the secondary series of NASCAR twice from Richmond International Raceway, and Dover International Speedway thanks to Mother Nature.

"It's a shame that we were not able to make the field in our last two events," said the driver. "We're heading to Memphis this weekend full of confidence and excitement as we feel that we have a strong shot at qualifying for the race."

The Georgia based team heads to the racetrack this weekend with a sponsorless racecar. "We were unable to secure a sponsor for this weekend's event, but despite that set back, we're not going to let it stand in our way," Henderson mentioned.

The goals for the weekend aren't high, but simply gain some experience in the NASCAR Busch Series and gain the best finish possible for his rookie race team. "This team is full of rookies, all the way around, sure we would like to have a top ten-fifteen run, but we're remaining optimistic and just hope to bring our machine home in one piece."

As for the track, Jimmy is excited about competing at the facility. "I've heard some great things about Memphis, I know it's going to be a tight field, and we're going to have to be on the ball all weekend, but I think we're prepared for it," Jimmy added.

"If we are able to walk away at least learning one thing, we will have taken a major step in the right direction, for this year at least we want to learn and prepare for the bigger and better things for next year."

While the team is thrilled about racing this weekend, they are more excited about next weekend, when NASCAR heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway. AMS marks Henderson's home track and the team will make an announcement next week regarding the event.

"We are excited, it's plain and simple, but we have to survive this weekend before we can even start thinking about next week," said the former ARCA RE/MAX Series driver.

The NASCAR Busch Series 2003 season is quickly coming to a close. The teams will roll into their final stand-alone event of the season this weekend from Memphis Motorsports Parkway. Practice, and qualifying are on the agenda on Friday, with the competitors scheduled to take the green flag for 250 circuits this Saturday, October 18th, 2003. The Sam's Town 250 benefiting St. Jude's Hospital is set to air live on TNT and MRN radio beginning at 3:00 PM EST.
